Approaching Athletes
We went from having no athletes to multiple and now we are constantly in talks with A-list athletes. One’s that seem unapproachable by the norm. Here’s how we did it. It wasn’t always a smooth sailing road as we had to learn on the way down much like a newborn eagle after it takes its first leap of faith to fly. There was a lot of pressure on the team to perform as time was of the essence. Especially since DefiSports is a token on the Binance Smart Chain. The mentality of investors is comparable to that of a trader. It was either do or die.
Fortunately, not only did we survive but we thrived in our mission to secure athletes that understood the impactful vision and would represent DefiSports long-term. Our strategy to reach out to them is rather simple. First of all, our primary method is to look into who the athlete’s agent is and then email him or her. This tends to be a good first impression as the agent recognizes that we are professional. Moreover, in today’s society, a lot of celebrities and athletes alike use social media apps such as Twitter and Instagram, therefore we may reach out to them on these platforms. Although it isn’t how we contact them primarily.

After successfully communicating with the agent, we arrange a date and time for a zoom call where we give a presentation on DefiSports and what it brings. During the zoom meeting, we create a friendly atmosphere and read the room for the best possible outcome If the person in question is interested, we usually have a second meeting where someone higher up the chain or the athlete is present. It is at this point do we discuss the terms of the contract and negotiate. Basically, what is expected of them, what DefiSports’ vision is and how it’ll be achieved, what will their compensation and benefits be, how long does the contract extend, and more. A few of their duties are but are not limited to are attending AMA’s on the main telegram channel, attending events physically in the near future, posting about DefiSports, etc. All in all, it is a lengthy but fruitful conversation with both parties mutually benefitting.
How is it mutually beneficial you might ask? Having signed an athlete has them representing us on multiple platforms both online and off. Essentially, we get to utilize their status and image to further our cause. They show up to AMA’s, live events, promote us on their social media accounts, and more. Also, having them onboard provides a sense of trust for investors and potential clients alike. In the case that the athlete isn’t able to make it on the team as a representative, it allows us to learn from and fine-tune our strategy in recruiting athletes.

As for the athletes themselves, they benefit from receiving compensations and benefits such as $DSC tokens. Their foundation also gets put out. For example, if an athlete is working towards bringing awareness to a charity, we will help further their cause. Furthermore, we bring tier 1 media exposure to the athlete in question. Also, will be creating NFT’s and giving them a % of the revenue. Finally, and most importantly, the athletes get to partake that is potentially a game-changer in the sports industry. Decentralizing a multibillion-dollar industry is no small feat and the ones that do will be considered pioneers for generations to come. Thank you for reading!
